Three short letters from Ralph Waldo Emerson to Reverend Caleb Stetson. Letters primarily reflect Emerson's persuasive ability as a host. Letter dated 6 May 1839 invites Stetson to Cyril Bartol's home stating, "I trust no mistimed events will hinder you. Marriages and buryings must all give place to the gathering-cry of the clan."
